Hi, I’m Michelle Moore, founder of ALMA.

I spent 28 years teaching Spanish language, literature, and culture, but my love for Latin America has always reached far beyond the classroom. Years of living, studying, traveling, and leading cultural immersion experiences throughout the region, showed me what happens when we stop simply visiting a place to check it off a list, and begin connecting with the people who call it home.

That is why I created ALMA.

ALMA is for adults who still have places they want to discover, people they want to meet, things they want to learn, and a whole lot of living left to do.

These are not cookie-cutter vacations or rushed sightseeing tours. ALMA creates intimate, thoughtfully designed cultural journeys where you can experience the food, traditions, stories, neighborhoods and people that make a destination come alive. You won’t just see the culture. You’ll become part of it.

And along the way, something else happens. Strangers become friends. Confidence grows. Curiosity returns. And you may discover that travel isn't only about seeing more of the world. Sometimes it helps you see more possibility in your own life.

Before we travel, I’ll help you learn practical conversational Spanish you can actually use, and throughout our journey, I’ll travel alongside you as your personal bilingual guide, available 24/7. My hope is that you’ll feel confident enough to step beyond the tourist experience, connect with local people, and experience Latin America from the inside out.

There are friendships you haven’t made yet. Cultures you haven’t experienced. Foods you haven’t tasted. Stories you haven’t heard. Adventures you haven’t imagined. And perhaps even parts of yourself you haven’t discovered yet. Your greatest adventures are still ahead of you!
